Working as the in house designer for Real English Drinks Distillery means I have the pleasure of creating new spirits brands from scratch. I work with the master blender initially to create the Brand Identity around the product, and take that design concept all the way through the production process including labelling and packaging, specification documentation, promotional and point of sale designs, marketing, sales and promotion design.
The brand Pud was created in 2022 after it was noticed in the restaurants owned by the distillery group, that toffee vodka outsold all the other spirits in the bar and was often served as a replacement or accompaniment to dessert. Pud is now a range of dessert flavoured vodka liqueurs and is fast gaining traction in a very competitive marketplace. ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
Pud started with sticky toffee Vodka liqueur. The designs centre around simple, colourful illustrations reminiscent of childhood. The 70 cl Apollo bottle was chosen because of it's simple, rounded shape and weighty base. The bottle were screenprinted with the Pud logo repeated in a wraparound pattern in white ink, that stands out beautifully against the coloured liquid once filled. The logo was again used on the heatshrink cork closure to create an overall strength of brand that stands out on the shelf.
I created the line artwork by drawing in Procreate on the Ipad and transferring the vector illustrations into Adobe Illustrator where the  colour palette was established and the logo an typography added.
Variations of labels were created to accomodate 70 cl, 20 cl and 5 cl bottles.
Six flavour desserts were created initially. The range also enjoys successful limited edition seasonal flavours for events and gifting.
