An ongoing business thread in my position as design lead and mentor at enterprise19 is the creation of bespoke gift products. We source 'blank' products from friendly local companies and we repackage and create new branded gifts for sale through our online shop. The enterprise is not for profit and all profit made goes straight back into the training and providing opportunities for our team. My position as design lead and mentor is to run regular illustration and graphic design workshops for our artists and creators, then to work with our graphic design trainees to take the artwork and use it to create packaging, labelling, point of sale and promotion designs that fit within our brand guidelines.
The process is ongoing (so that we can train up more and more young people), which allows us create bespoke ranges for seasonal events such as Christmas, Easter, back to school, Valentines day etc as well as bespoke products for individuals and for local companies who approach us.
We use a combination of Heat transfer printing, digital printing and screen printing - depending on the product, to produce all our goods in house. This allows the teaching process that I oversee, to cover all aspects of design from initial concept and presentation through to artworking, final design, production, point of sale, and packaging for delivery and sale.
