In 2020 I lead a design project to create a new brand of Coffee. My design team was made up entirely of young adults with disabilities and we partnered with SEND Coffee - a Hackney based coffee roaster and importer who also train and mentor young people with disabilities to become Baristas and become employed within the Coffee industry.
We LOVE coffee. So it has been a dream come true for us at enterprise19 to be able to partner with SENDCOFFEE so that we could create our own brand.
The young adults who we work with have a variety of disabilities and despite their enthusiasm to work and be a valued part of their community, their access to real work experiences is limited. At enterprise19 we support our young adults in a variety of ways and this allows us to have our own shop in which we now stock Bean19 coffee.... as well as a wide range of greetings cards, crafts for the home, gifts and accessories.... We work with SEND to ethically source the very best Coffee from their network of Fairtrade linked farmers.
For this project, I mentored and worked alongside a small team of young adults to create the packaging and all point of sale Designs in regular Graphic Design workshops and we sell the end result in our online shop, which is stocked and stacked by our Young adults, delivered to the Post Office or locally, by our young adults and also served in our cafe, as delicious coffee - by our young adults, once they have received their barista training.
Bean19 is no ordinary coffee. It is the very best quality, from the very best organic, fairtrade farmers and selected for it's deliciousness. Whether you are buying Bean19 coffee as a gift, for a special occasion, or just because you really love GOOD coffee. We know you wont be disappointed. Plus by buying Bean19 - you are positively contributing to a wonderful not for profit chain that supports and mentors young people in the very best environments.
